Martincek Curriculum
Vitae: He studied musicology at the Faculty of Arts of
Comenius University in Bratislava (2006-2011), where he also received
his PhD in 2016 by defending the thesis Matthäus Apelles von Löwenstern
(1594-1648) and his compositions in the Levoča and Bardejov music
collections. Since 2016 he has been teaching at the
Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he teaches music
history and other subjects (history of music, history of Slovak music,
music historiography, music aesthetics, music software). He specializes
in research on the earlier history of musical culture, mainly in the
17th century in the present-day Slovakia, but also in the wider Central
European area.
